At the core of our action is the thought of an Electric Power Station as a permanent laboratory, a place to investigate, experiment, create and share. A place for taking risks, developing ideas and testing possibilities. A place of intersection of generations and geographies – Porto, Portugal and anywhere else in the world –, where artists meet at different stages of their journey: more or less emerging, more or less consolidated.
This commitment to artistic creation is divided into two types: regular hosting and residency program. The Residencies Program can be framed within programs such as the INRESIDENCE, IBERESCENA, or others. The different residency types seek to support artistic creation in various aspects, such as workspaces, team accommodation, and support for the dissemination of projects developed in residency when open rehearsals or previews are held.

REGULAR HOSTINGS
The Regular Hostings include rehearsal space and some technical support, without financial support. The allocation of submitted proposals is carried out throughout the year and managed in accordance with the calendar of space availability at the Power Station.
Those interested in Regular Hostings should send a proposal with a synopsis, artistic record, a biographical note of the team involved, proposed duration/scheduling of the residency, and links to useful information (websites, videos, information on previous projects…) to the email address: residencias@circolando.com
RESIDENCIES PROGRAM
In the Residency Program of CRL – Central Elétrica, artists or collectives are selected through open calls, launched annually, or by invitation, in which the selection is carried out directly by our curatorship and a medium-term scholarship is awarded (2 months). The Residencies Program differs from the Regular Hostings in the fact that, in addition to providing space, it also provided financial support for artistic residencies in performing arts.
The CRL – Central Elétrica Artistic Residencies Program 2024 will host the selected artists: Guilherme de Sousa/Basalto (Blunt Knives) and Romain Beltrão Teule (OFF) and Tania Dinis (Morada Aberta) and Leticia Simões (Malunga). You can find out more about the program here!
