24 May, 3:00pm – 5:00pm | Central Elétrica, Porto
In collaboration with the Foundation for the Development of Creative Society (Warsaw) and CRL – Central Elétrica, as part of the project “Polish Performance in Porto – Identity, Corporeality, Process”, performances by Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz and Konrad Juściński will be presented.
“Polish Performance in Porto – Identity, Corporeality, Process” is a project dedicated to contemporary Polish performance art, showcasing its most significant phenomena and artistic strategies. The featured performances explore the relationship between the body, memory, space, and social mechanisms of control, while the artists address themes of identity, ephemerality, and interaction with the surroundings.
The presentation of Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz and Konrad Juściński’s performances as part of “Polish Performance in Porto – Identity, Corporeality, Process” offers a unique opportunity for the Portuguese audience to discover contemporary Polish performance art. By employing diverse performative strategies, the artists introduce the viewers to a world of actions based on intense corporeality, ephemerality, and the search for new forms of expression.
The project is an invitation to intercultural dialogue, allowing for the confrontation of different performative traditions and the exploration of shared themes concerning the body, memory, and relationship with space.
The event will be accompanied by a catalogue in Polish, Portuguese, and English, featuring texts and visual documentation on contemporary Polish performance and the artists participating in the project.
This project is co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland from the Culture Promotion Fund.

The work of Krzysztof Leon Dziemaszkiewicz examines the boundaries of corporeality, confronting the audience with the intense physical presence and tensions between social norms and individual expression. The artist employs the body as a medium of transgression, deconstruction, and manifestation of freedom.
His performances, often inspired by queer expression and physical theatre, are filled with emotional intensity and physical tension. Dziemaszkiewicz creates site-specific performances, adapting them to a given space and its context. His actions balance between provocation and intimacy, inviting the audience to confront their own perception of the body and identity.
In his performance “Elusive Memory”, Konrad Juściński explores the fleeting nature of memory and space. The artist creates ephemeral sound-spatial compositions, examining the intersection of permanence and transience in human experience.
Juściński’s artistic practice focuses on the processual nature of art, using minimal yet significant gestures. Through working with sound, light, and small objects, he constructs spaces of contemplation and reflection, engaging the viewer on both a sensory and emotional level.
The artist does not construct narrative structures – his actions resemble contemporary rituals, where moments of change and balance remain in dynamic dialogue.
