The Torto River is a tributary on the right bank of the Douro River.

In the 80s, it was described as follows by Camilo Oliveira: “It is born in Serra de Valongo, enters the places of Seixo and Pontelhas in the parish of Rio Tinto, enters through the place of Paço, in the parish of Fânzeres, Ponte de Real, in the parish of S . Cosme, Fura Montes and Azevedo, from the parish of Campanhã and flows into the Douro River, next to the Fábrica de Moagens A Invicta. (…) The fish that exist in this stream are: boga, escalo and eel.”

Previously called “ribulum campania”, the Campanhã river, the Torto remains largely forgotten. We decided to follow its course, in search of the stories, the memories, the lives that live on its banks.

Torto had its first exhibition at Ciclo Território in 2023, with the debut of the finished project scheduled for next October.
