“Seh Khak – Three Lands” is a project that begins with the personal story of three women who try to find an identity, based on the territory that unites them, Iran, and seek a close relationship with the historical, social and political state of the country which today is going through a Revolution beyond “borders”. The project explores identity; the homeland; the dialogue, differences and similarities between East and West, through the multidisciplinary fusion of movement, video, music and spoken word that, when merged, form new lines of communication between themselves and become a reflection of their own diasporas.
“Seh Khak – Three Lands” is the result of an investigation by the three artists that took place between December 2023 and July 2024 and which unfolds between the format of an exhibition and a multidisciplinary performance.
The creative process initially culminated in an intensive two-week artistic residency and an Open Studio in the Auditorium at CRL- Central Elétrica, which served to deepen the performance practice, under the guidance and artistic consultancy of Hooman Sharifi, an Iranian-Norwegian choreographer.
The final phase of the project will be presented this month at Espaço Mira, with the opening of the exhibition on July 6th, at 4 pm, curated by Susana Chiocca, and the performance on July 13th, at 6:30 pm, in the Auditorium at CRL – Central Elétrica. Entry is free and limited to the room’s capacity. No prior reservation is necessary.
