09 & 12 November | Central Elétrica, Porto
Promoted by Trema Associação Cultural, quilombo.trema!, presents its first edition on November 8th to 12th in different spaces in the city of Porto. Dedicated to bringing together BIPOC artists (black, indigenous, people of color — black, indigenous and racialized people), this unprecedented initiative in the city brings together artists from 04 countries (Brazil, Portugal, Ghana and Cape Verde). At Central Elétrica, we will host two programming for the 5-day event!
On November 9th, we begin with a collective dinner with Cachupa da Filó at 7:00 pm, followed by Mário Lúcio’s conference “The urgency of a new cultural dialogue” at 8:00 pm. Later that day, at 9pm, Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi, also known as crazinisT artisT, gives us the performance “Strikethrough / Tachado”.
The last day of Quilombo, November 12th, begins at 3pm with the concert “A MAMANAUS” by DJ Patisol & Clyta which continues throughout the afternoon. In parallel, there will be workshops by Pedro Dalai and Karina Ramos, together with the launch of the publication “Presentes! Africanos e Afrodescendentes no Porto” by José Sérgio. We also have the performances “dZikudZikui-aBiku-aBiikus – Born after the stillborn” by Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi and “Tá Pió Cá: Lição de País” by Dori Negro and Paulo Pinto, at 4pm and 7pm respectively. Throughout that day, we can also count on the Afro Porto Fair.

The event is financed by the Portuguese Republic – Culture | DGArtes – General Directorate of Arts and has a partnership with Teatro Municipal do Porto, Câmara Municipal do Porto, ESMAE – Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo, in addition to CRL-Central Elétrica.
