This cine-concert in Porto appears following one held last year during the retrospective of Edgar Pêra at the Serralves Foundation and in a straight connection with the project “Spirit of the Place 3.0: Fontaínhas” by Circolando.
Pêra’s cine-concerts distinguish by the constant interaction between images and sounds, a movement between the musicians and the filmmaker, mixing pre-assembled films (shot in the Fontaínhas neighborhood) with images captured live, later subjected to effects of live transformation, making these events unique and unrepeatable moments.
Films: Edgar Pêra, Music: Rui Lima & Sérgio Martins, With the special participation of Jorge Quintela and Cláudio Vasques (VJ), Coordination and Production: Circolando, Co-production: Circolando and Câmara Municipal do Porto – Cultura em Expansão

Sound piece by Jonathan Uliel Saldanha for the Foz do Douro Martial Band in Fort St. John the Baptist.
A singular collaboration, where this centennial Band of Porto associates with the trajectory of the winds imprisoned inside the Fort, the main resonant cavity of the piece.
The air modulated by the blow instruments and generated by the blows of the percussion, inhabits a system of reflexes, in a static succession of echoes.
Direction and electronic: Jonathan Saldanha, Maestro: Jorge Macedo, Sound: Nuno Aragão, Light: João Abreu, Coordination and Production: Circolando, Co-production: Circolando and Câmara Municipal do Porto – Cultura em Expansão, Support: União das Freguesias de Aldoar, Foz do Douro e Nevogilde, Other supports: IEFP/Cace Cultural do Porto; Orfeão da Foz do Douro; Igreja São João da Foz do Douro.
6 & 7 November 2015, Porto
Over the last decades we have witnessed the multiplication of artistic forms that emerge and develop in the outskirts of the canonical cultural venues. That are constantly redefining the place for arts and their practice in the real life of the communities, that always propose new forms of poetic rewriting of reality, that aim, in new syntheses, at the possibility of aesthetic reaffirmation of citizenship.
RUPIPIPAPU promotes, over the condensed time of a weekend, a meeting between artists, promoters, programmers and other social actors from the sphere of philosophy, urbanism… It questions the multiple discourses that emerge from artistic practices in urban landscapes, and looks at the concrete strategies developed by the artists searching for the imaginary lines, the interstitial spaces where new possible forms of urbanity arise.
A project by André Braga and Cláudia Figueiredo | Circolando with José Luís Ferreira | Antunes Fidalgo Unipessoal, co-production: Porto Municipal Council – Department of Culture
