André Braga & Cláudia Figueiredo
With the special participation from Banda Filarmónica Ovarense.
Poetic and visual performance, Charanga assumes two symbolic objects as its starting points: the bicycle and the fanfare. It departs from the bowels of the earth to dream about the elements absent from the mine: light, air, voyage… It searches for the loneliness and nostalgia of the miners… and creates a child dream for them. A dream of escape and evasion in the circles of a carousel. A dream told by music. The music of a small philharmonic of wind instruments. Stories that belong to a past time that happened before they got there which the video component that opens the show, draws in the canvas.
The space of dream as a circular shape. A circle with an enigmatic iron structure in the centre. Before that, there was a life inside the cold earth and long voyages through never-ending roads.
Since Charanga completed its 10th aniversary, we only present it on very special occasions, calling to the party everyone that may make it even greater.
Since 2015 the dream of escape and evasion of our miners it told with the music from a great philarmonic enselme, the Banda Filarmónica Ovarense. We call it Charanga Monumental.
