ATERRIZAR is a new multidisciplinary programme developed by CRL – Central Elétrica, focused on the territories of São Pedro and Azevedo, areas located at the eastern edge of the parish of Campanhã and very close to Central Elétrica.
With the support of the Fundo de Fomento Cultural, the programme deepens the relationship between nature and community, seeking a reconnection with the Earth, and runs from March to October 2026.
‘Aterrizar’ is a new verb proposed by Bruno Latour to discuss the urgent need to reconnect with the Earth. Today, in the face of climate change and environmental collapse, Latour argues that we have lost the “ground” beneath our feet: we no longer know where we are or what sustains our existence. “Aterrizar” therefore means rediscovering the ground — not only the physical territory, but also the network of relationships that connect us to other living beings, ecosystems, and materials. It is about recognising that we are earthly beings, fully dependent on a web of interactions that sustains life.
Herbário do Território, Ficções Botânicas, Caminhos, Terra-a-Terra — ATERRIZAR unfolds across four activity strands that propose different ways of connecting with the land — walks, workshops, artistic residencies, films, performances, and talks.
The first phase of the programme is called Herbário do Território and takes place during the spring months.
