Fio Condutor – Territory Cycle
The Territory Cycle focuses on contexts and communities neighbouring the Central Elétrica. The cycle’s programming intends to set a new look at the surrounding maps, recognizing ways of life, values, beliefs and traditions of different social groups.
In 2022/2023, the programming of the Territory Cycle was supported by Porto City Council, through the program Criatório.
In 2023/2024, the programming was financed by the European Union – Creative Europe, through the PLANT project.

6 and 15 June
São Pedro de Azevedo and Contumil, Campanhã, Porto
On June 6 and 15, in various locations in São Pedro de Azevedo and Contumil, we continue with Fio Condutor – Territory Cycle, a program dedicated to artistic creation in dialogue with the spaces and communities surrounding Central. After the artistic residencies in May, we will open the creative processes to the public, on June 6, we present CORPO-ROUPA, by Tales Frey, at Casa das Glicínias in Contumil, and on June 15, in collaboration with the project ConGerminar from Associação Cultural Fogo Lento, we create a moment of sharing and reflection, featuring a conversation on artistic and pedagogical practices in dialogue with the environment, with Evelyne Lopez Mussons; an workshop HOW TO SEE INVISIBLE THINGS with Madalena Matoso from Planeta Tangerina; and a presentation of URGANHADA, by Angelina Nogueira.
Fio Condutor – Territory Cycle 2024
4, 5 & 6 october
Azevedo, Campanhã, Porto
On the 4th, 5th and 6th of October, in various locations in São Pedro de Azevedo, a peripheral place in the parish of Campanhã, in Porto, Circolando – Central Elétrica held the 2nd edition of Ciclo Território, a program dedicated to artistic creation in dialogue with the places and communities neighbouring the Plant. In a desire to bring art closer to life and anthropology, contextual artistic practices were the core of the program, which included several upcoming projects, both in the field of performing arts, cine-concert and visual arts. The meeting and socializing were other central ingredients of the cycle, with several moments of conversation, snacks and a party promised with shows by Dona Armênia and Marante.

In the 2023 edition, we brought to the program the presentation of Rio Torto, by André Braga, Cláudia Figueiredo, Gonçalo Mota e Nuno Preto, we brought together in a picnic the recipes and stories collected by Rebecca Moradalizadeh in R/Espigar and we include an opening of the process of Landra collective through the Caminhada do Carvalho.
