Cultural mediation has been the subject of a wide variety of initiatives, through different services and practices involving heterogeneous aspects and manifestations. Reflecting on this notion becomes a promising exercise in the analysis of contemporary cultural issues. But after all, what is it to mediate? What do we mediate, for whom and for what?
Over the course of four meetings, experts will share knowledge and experiences so that, together, we can reflect on different creative practices.
Critic, historian and university professor specialized in theater. PhD from the University of Buenos Aires. He is a regular professor of History of the Universal Theater (Career of Arts, UBA); coordinates the area of Research in Art Sciences (AICA) at Centro Cultural da Cooperação Floreal Gorini; founded and directs since 2001 the Buenos Aires School of Spectators. General director of the Classroom of Theater Spectators at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Among his books are: Philosophy of Theater I, II and III; One hundred years of Argentine theater; Introduction to theater studies.
PhD in Performing Arts from the Federal University of Bahia. Professor at the Dance School, at the Postgraduate Program in Dance (PPGDança) at UFBA. She was a curator of MEXE – International Meeting of Art and Community in the city of Porto, in 2019 and of the Training Activities of the Sesc Dance Biennial 2019. Co-organizer of the International Curator and Mediation in Performing Arts Seminar at FIAC Bahia since 2014. Coordinator of the Cultural Mediation Program of the SESC Rotating Stage 2019 and of the Cultural Mediation project: a cartography on the Rotating Stage 2018 in seven states of Brazil.
Luís Sousa Ferreira
Director of 23 Miles, a project that brings together four cultural spaces in the municipality of Ílhavo and other cultural events. Founder and artistic director of BONS SONS (2006-2019), a community festival of Portuguese music, he was cultural commissioner in the Inter-Urban Community of Médio Tejo (2017-2019). In 2018, he was a member of the Working Group for the Improvement of the Arts Support Model and, since 2019, he is a member of the Portugal Expo 2020 Dubai Advisory Council and a chronicler in the Generator Magazine.
Post-graduated in Cultural Management in Cities by INDEG / ISCTE and Master in Cultural Studies by the Catholic University of Lisbon. Since 2010, she has been the executive director of Artemrede, a cultural network with 15 years of activity that brings together 16 municipalities and the association Acesso Cultura, promoting the development of territories through artistic creation, cultural mediation and training strategies. He worked in the Youth Department of the Municipality of Lisbon and collaborated with different cultural associations.
