In times of celebration of Circolando’s 20 years and inspired by the concept of body-archive developed by André Lepecki, “20.20” takes as a starting point the work on our archive of movements, texts, music, objects… Wanting total distance from a nostalgic or revivalist approach, the principle will always be “to identify in the past work creative fields not exhausted by new possibilities”. The radical invention of new lives and developments for the original material is, therefore, what interests us.
We are very interested in the work in the shadow areas of memory and the whole philosophy of history that defends another conception of time, based on a crossed approach of past-present-future.
We are interested in a certain similarity between the locus of memory and dreams and this exercise of swirling the past, giving rise to “a floating cloud of affections”, a misty landscape from which only what really matters emerges. Traces, echoes, passions, scattered impressions, many voices speaking at the same time: the pulse of life full of blood.
