Since 2005, we have been inhabiting the old Freixo Power Station (now called Cace Cultural), in Porto, trying to give a new meaning to this deactivated space, pulsating and generating other forms of energy.
Over these 15 years, we have been promoting the work of different artists, generating very consistent data. At this moment, the demand for our residency spaces by local, national and international artists is already very significant, and the list of projects in-residence is long and of great interest.
At the core of our project is creating a Power Station as a permanent laboratory, a place to investigate, experiment, create and share. A place for risk, for developing ideas and testing possibilities. A place of intersection of generations and geographies – Porto, Portugal and any other place in the world -, where artists meet at different stages of their journey: more or less emerging, more or less consolidated. The presence of these artists in our creative center has been divided into three lines of action: residences, training and programmation.
